Adding Data Via a Database Connection

To get started with Max, you can add data by connecting to your database or by uploading a dataset that you'd like for Max to help you analyze.

Connect to a Database

To connect to your database:

1. Click the Datasets icon in the left navigation.

2. Click the plus icon in the bottom left corner to add a new dataset.

3. Choose the option for Create Dataset from Database.

4. If you are adding a dataset from an existing database connection, choose the database from the list of available options and click here. If you need to connect to a new database, select Connect New Database.

5. Choose your database type. Max currently supports the following databases:

  • Redshift
  • Databricks
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google BigQuery
  • Snowflake

6. Fill in the necessary information about your database. Required fields will be notated with an asterisk. Required fields will vary by database connection type.

7. Click Connect Database.

8. Choose the table you want to create your dataset from from the list of available tables.

9. Click Next.

10. Review the sample of your dataset, if all looks good, click Create Dataset.
